receipt_long Preparation Steps

  1. 1
Rinse 250 g of rice under cold water. Pour the grains into a fine strainer, then run them under cold tap water. Gently run your clean hands through the rice to rinse all the grains well. Keep rinsing and stirring until the water runs clear. You can cook as much rice as you like as long as you adjust the ratio of rice to water.
  2. 2
Combine the water and the rinsed rice in a pot. Pour the water into the pot before adding the rice. The amount of water you pour will depend on the type of rice you are cooking. For short-grain rice: use 250 ml of water for 250 g of rice. For long-grain rice: use 300 ml of water for 250 g of rice.
  3. 3
Add salt and butter and bring to a boil. Use half a teaspoon of coarse salt and 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter for 250 g of rice. Once all the ingredients are in the pot, bring the water to a boil over high heat.
  4. 4
The salt and butter will give more flavor to the rice. Cover and let boil for 18 to 20 minutes. If the rice is still hard, add a little water and wait until the water has evaporated.
