Today I offer you the delicious recipe for Muandj'a Moto, or "titiris." It is a dish found on many tables in Cameroon. Titiris, or Muandj'a Moto, are very small fish (5 to 7 cm) widely eaten and much appreciated in the Littoral region of Cameroon.

receipt_long Preparation Steps

    Clean and wash the titiris and put them in a bowl. Sauté the djansang and the pèbè in a little previously heated oil.

    Blend together the onions, the garlic clove, the seeded tomatoes, the djansang, the pèbè and the chili pepper.

    Pour the seasonings into the bowl containing the titiris. Mix well. Season with salt and pepper.

    Add the bouillon cubes. Heat oil in a casserole. When it is very hot, pour in the titiris and the seasonings.

    Cover and let cook for 30 minutes over medium heat. The muandj'a moto is done when a little oil appears around the edges of the pot.

    Meanwhile, peel the plantains and cook them in salted water for 20 minutes.

    They are done when a fork inserted into them meets no resistance. Serve the muandj'a moto hot with the plantains.
